A rate is only the first line of the receipt.

Percentage charges, fixed processing fees and withdrawal costs can all lower the rate you effectively receive. Enter the terms exactly as they are disclosed and see the fee stack before you compare an offer.

Method note

How to turn fee terms into one comparable number

The useful output is not the largest rate printed at the top of an offer. It is the amount left after every disclosed deduction, expressed on the same per-unit basis.

Start with gross payout

Multiply the card face value by the headline naira-per-unit rate. A 100-unit card at ₦1,250 per unit produces a gross payout of ₦125,000 before fees.

Match the percentage fee to its stated basis

A 1.5% fee applied to ₦125,000 is ₦1,875. If the terms say the percentage is applied only after a fixed processing charge, the percentage base is smaller. That ordering changes the final amount, so do not choose a basis from memory or from another platform.

Convert every fee to naira

Add the percentage amount, fixed processing fee and withdrawal fee. In the worked example, ₦1,875 + ₦500 + ₦100 produces ₦2,475 in total deductions and a net payout of ₦122,525.

Normalize the result

Divide the net payout by face value. The example's effective rate is ₦1,225.25 per unit, which is ₦24.75 below the headline rate. You can now compare it with another offer using the same card details.

Use the current terms, not an old screenshot

Rates and fee policies can change independently. Check the platform's current fee disclosure and use a dated estimate. For a current CardFlow starting figure, see the CardFlow gift card rate table, then enter any separate fees shown for the transaction you are evaluating.
